Post subject:  Forum Guidelines - please read BEFORE posting!

:welcome:

Forum Rules and Regulations

I created this forum to give us all a place where we can talk about a variety of things without as many strict rules and policies as some of the other forums. With that said, there will still be some guidelines to follow. This is a work in progress, so if you have suggestions please let me know.

I strongly suggest that your very first post be in the "Introduce Yourself" thread, so everyone can get to know you a bit. Once you've introduced yourself, feel free to jump in!!!

First, here’s what is WELCOME here:

1. Tokidoki discussion, of course!
2. Respectful debate about almost any topic (be respectful of those who are members here as well as to those who may not be here to defend themselves).
3. Buying, selling, trading, and custom purchases (at your own risk, of course.)
4. Referencing and/or linking to other boards, forums, etc.
5. Posting links to eBay auctions, etc

Since my name is registered as the owner of this forum, and it’s public, there are some rules we must all follow.

Here’s what’s NOT allowed:

1. Harassment, bashing, etc. If a seller on LJ or eBay, etc., has scammed or defrauded you, you may mention the seller. However, bashing because of a sellers pricing or selling practices is NOT ALLOWED
2. Nudity, explicit sexual discussion, etc. This is not allowed per FreeForums.org
3. You may NOT steal/copy posts, photos, etc and post them in other forums as if they are your own. This is grounds for being banned immediately, without warnings.
4. General rudeness, lack of respect, or unnecessary negativity or drama.

The Admin reserves the right to ban any member, at any time, for any reason. This is how it is on every other forum in the world and that's how it will be here.

Buy/Sell/Trade Forum rules:

These rules are MANDATORY - you MUST read these guidelines and follow them. Threads that do not follow the guidelines will be deleted.

1. You must have a minimum of 50 posts before creating a "For Sale" thread. This is for the safety and security of everyone, and will help to ensure that the community has had a chance to get to know new members a bit before entering into sales transactions.

2. Please format threads with [FOR SALE], [FOR TRADE], [FOR SALE OR TRADE], [WANTED], etc at the BEGINNING of the thread subject title. (Obviously, "wanted" posts go in the "wanted" forum, etc.) If all posts are formatted the same way, the forums will be easier to wade through.

3. Once a sale is made, item is found, etc...please DO NOT remove or alter the thread title or your original post. Leave everything as is, but add [SOLD], [TRADED], [FOUND], etc to the end of the subject title. This is for the protection of the buyer and seller, so there will not be a question of what the original price was, the condition of the item, etc. At that point, I (or a Mod) will lock the thread to prevent additional postings so that it will filter to the bottom and active threads will stay towards the top.

4. We have a one thread per member policy in the Buy/Sell/Trade forums. Please edit your existing thread if you have updates, new items to add, etc using the "EDIT" button.

5. We have a "One-Week Bump Policy" in the For Sale/For Trade/Want to Buy forums. You may "bump" your thread only once per week (one week = 7 days in all parts of the known universe). If you have additional items to sell, please add them to your existing thread by using the "Edit" button. Bumping is also only allowed once per week, this includes updates such as "Photos added", "Now on eBay" etc. You may bump your thread 7 days after the last post to the thread, regardless of who made that post. Premature bumps will be deleted by a Moderator, causing the thread to fall back to where it was in the list.

4. Feedback points are awarded as one point per TRANSACTION, not one point per item. For example, if someone does a custom purchase for you for four items, you each get ONE feedback point, not four.

5. I reserve the right to add #5 as needed.

I urge everyone to use what I call the “common sense and compassion” approach to all of your posts. Remember that everyone comes from different walks of life, different financial situations, etc. - and that’s part of what makes this diverse group so amazing and special – but we all have the love of Tokidoki in common, and that’s why we’re here.

Here are some additional suggestions:

1. If you must respond in anger, respond to the MESSAGE, not the PERSON.
2. Be kind to others.
3. Disagree respectfully
4. Stay organized – create threads in the proper forums
5. In the feedback forum, please add on to the existing thread of there is already one for the person.

Ultimately, I reserve the right to move, edit, and/or delete posts as I feel necessary. I don’t foresee this happening often as long as we all remember to act like adults. :)

:mrgreen: Most of all – HAVE FUN!!!!!:mrgreen:
